Horizontal dewatering is a dewatering method where trenches or French drains are created towards a collection point. Trench drains will have to be created, leading to a sump pit (collection point).
From the collection point, an electrical submersible pump or a diesel driven surface pump will discharge the water to the discharge point.
This dewatering technique is commonly used for shallow excavations, and when dewatering in (hard) rock.
Vacuum filters are partially perforated wells with a length ranging from 4 up to 9 meters. The filters are placed by hand or machine in a combined drilling/rinsing process.
Wellpoint dewatering can be used in sandy soils/marine deposits (e.g. reclaimed land).
One of our specializations is dewatering by deep wells. This technique is used for long term lowering and stabilization of groundwater levels. Our deep wells are characterized by a high degree of stability.
Deepwells are applicable in any situation. Using deepwells is the preferred technique compared to other dewatering methods for dewatering locations with a lot of water, for large or deep construction pits and for dewatering in rock/limestone etc.
Discharging the water from a dewatering system in Qatar usually includes a lot of pipework to the discharge location (sewage network, to the sea, to a re-infiltration well).
Depending on the distance of the dewatering system to the discharge location, booster systems may be required. Koop will also be able to provide these.
